On May 29 of the current year, a meeting was held in the conference hall of the Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan with representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, dedicated to the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the Main Directions of the Domestic and Foreign Policy of the Republic.”
The Presidential Address is considered one of the most important political and state documents. It analyzes the country’s development achievements and defines the main tasks and goals of the state for the coming years. The latest Address of the President also covered the most important issues of the country’s political, economic, and social life.
In his Address, the President emphasized that the main goal of the state is to ensure a достойный standard of living for the people, sustainable development of the national economy, and enhancement of Tajikistan’s authority in the international arena. To achieve these goals, special attention is being paid to the development of industry, energy, agriculture, and the country’s infrastructure.
To implement these objectives, the Agency is currently carrying out five state programs aimed at developing new lands and returning unused lands to agricultural circulation, improving the meliorative condition of lands, conducting riverbank reinforcement works, equipping pumping stations with modern and energy-efficient technologies, and advancing land reclamation and irrigation. The implementation of these programs will contribute to ensuring the country’s food security.
One of the key issues highlighted in the Address was the development of the national economy. The Leader of the Nation noted that rapid industrialization remains a strategic objective of the state. In this regard, the construction of new enterprises, attraction of investments, and creation of new jobs are of great importance. These measures contribute to improving the standard of living and reducing unemployment.
Special attention was also paid to the energy sector. Tajikistan possesses enormous hydropower resources, and their effective use is of great significance for the country’s economic development. The construction of hydroelectric power plants and implementation of energy projects create an important foundation for achieving energy independence.
The education sector was recognized as one of the priority areas of state policy. The President emphasized that youth are the future of the state and the nation. Therefore, improving the quality of education, studying exact sciences, modern technologies, and foreign languages are among the most important tasks. New measures were also proposed to develop educational institutions and improve learning conditions.
Healthcare issues also occupied an important place in the Address. The Leader of the Nation stressed that protecting public health is one of the main directions of the state’s social policy. Necessary measures are being taken to improve medical services, construct hospitals and healthcare centers, and train highly qualified specialists.
In addition, special attention was given to issues related to youth, women, and sports. Young people, as the driving force of society, should be educated, patriotic, and active. The state is implementing various measures to support youth, develop talents, and create new opportunities.
The President also highly emphasized the importance of ensuring security, peace, and stability. Today, Tajikistan is recognized internationally as a peace-loving and initiative-driven country. Our state continues its policy of friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding with other countries.
The Address also touched upon environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources. Taking into account climate change, the reduction of water resources, and environmental challenges, Tajikistan supports international initiatives in the fields of water and climate.
We all witnessed that from May 25 to 28 of the current year, Dushanbe hosted the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028,” attended by more than 2,500 guests from 110 countries around the world.
As is well known, the latest Address analyzed the achievements of our beloved country over recent years. It was noted that all these accomplishments are primarily the result of the dedicated work of the people of Tajikistan.
The year 2026 is a historic year for us, marking the 35th anniversary of state independence. Each of us, especially the youth, should honor this sacred celebration by contributing to the development of the state and the prosperity of our homeland, demonstrating creativity and showcasing the rich culture and ancient civilization of the Tajik nation.
The year 2026 has been declared the Year of Expanding Constructive and Beautification Works, as well as Strengthening National Self-Awareness and Identity.
In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan regarding the Action Plan for carrying out the tasks outlined in the Presidential Address “On the Main Directions of the Domestic and Foreign Policy of the Republic,” the Agency for Land Reclamation and Irrigation under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan developed an Action Plan, which was approved by Order No. 7 of the Agency Director dated January 26, 2026. The plan consists of 12 points, and the heads of subordinate departments were also instructed to ensure its implementation.
In conclusion, it should be noted that the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2026 is an important program for the development of the state and society. It serves as a guideline for the future activities of every citizen of the country.
