On May 28, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Atanas Zafirov, who arrived in the Republic of Tajikistan to participate in the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Protection.
During the meeting, Mr. S. Kholmamadzoda provided information about the initiatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the activities of the Ministry in regulating migration processes, and the country’s capabilities in preparing labor migrants before departure and organizing labor export abroad. The parties discussed the priority areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of legal and regulated migration, protection of the rights and interests of citizens, and the development of bilateral relations.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Atanas Zafirov addressed the issue of labor shortages in Bulgaria and the national labor market’s demand for specialists in the fields of construction, tourism, road building, and other services. He expressed his country’s readiness to receive workers from the Republic of Tajikistan.
The parties paid special attention to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration. In order to diversify labor migration and meet the labor market needs of Bulgaria with citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, it was deemed appropriate to further develop cooperation, taking national interests into account.
