One of the innovative approaches to solving the problem of providing livestock with nutritious feed is the cultivation of plants rich in vitamins, proteins, and other essential nutrients. The Department of Animal Feeding and Feed Production Technology in the Rudaki District is carrying out practical work on hydroponic fodder cultivation.
One such method is the production of green hydroponic fodder (1). Green hydroponic fodder is 6–8 times cheaper than hay meal, 5–6 times cheaper than compound feed, and 3 times cheaper than hay (2).
Such feed contains essential nutrients and vitamins, is well digestible and easily absorbed, is an environmentally friendly product, and its production is simple and cost-effective. Hydroponic fodder production is not dependent on the season and can be carried out both indoors and outdoors, depending on the local climatic conditions (3).
