On May 6, 2025, in the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Council—the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan, Lieutenant General of Justice Habibullo Vohidzoda—a meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Activities of Law Enforcement Agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan was held. The meeting aimed to implement the instructions and directives of the Founder of National Peace and Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.
At the beginning of the meeting, the implementation of the instructions and directives of the Leader of the Nation regarding the prevention of illegal electricity usage, excessive losses beyond established norms, and other related issues was discussed. It was emphasized that the capacities and efforts of law enforcement and other authorized agencies must be directed toward fulfilling the President’s instructions.
One of the key factors in the development of the country's socio-economic sectors, as well as in ensuring a decent standard of living for the population, is the provision of uninterrupted electricity to the people.
In this regard, members of the Council and other responsible persons were instructed to widely disseminate the essence and provisions of the new legislation concerning criminal liability for the illegal use of electricity to the general public.
Additionally, the Coordinating Council meeting, with the participation of heads of ministries and committees, representatives of local executive authorities, and other relevant structures and agencies, reviewed the state of juvenile delinquency and crimes committed against minors during the years 2023–2024 and the first quarter of 2025.
The Coordinating Council noted that some youth and adolescents, instead of engaging in education and choosing the right path of development, turn to criminal activities, the consequences of which are regretful.
In this context, attention was drawn to the shortcomings in the educational process and the behavior of students in certain secondary schools across the cities and districts of the country. Education officials and meeting participants were urged to address these issues.
The meeting also discussed ways to prevent minors from being drawn into illegal religious teachings—one of the factors leading to the involvement of youth and adolescents in extremist parties and movements.
The Coordinating Council defined the responsibilities of law enforcement and other authorized government bodies in preventing juvenile and youth delinquency. It adopted relevant decisions to ensure the implementation of the instructions of the esteemed Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, aimed at fostering patriotism, respect for history, culture, and national heritage, and enhancing the role and status of youth and adolescents in society.
