In Rogun City, an Open City Mini-Football Tournament was held among teenagers and young people to mark Tajikistan Youth Day and World Football Day, with the participation of 10 teams. The competition was organized for the Rogun City Chairman's Cup.
The event was held as part of the initiative of Rustam Emomali, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan and President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, through whose efforts World Football Day gained international recognition.
The tournament was officially opened by Bahrom Sharafzoda, Deputy Chairman of Rogun City, who, on behalf of the City Chairman, congratulated the participants and guests on this historic achievement, which has opened a new chapter in the history of world football. He also emphasized that these achievements are the result of the wise and sports-oriented policies of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.
Holding such sporting events contributes to the development of sports, especially football, among teenagers, young people, and residents of the city. It also promotes friendship, mutual understanding, and patriotic values among the younger generation.
It is worth noting that, in celebration of World Football Day, observed internationally on 25 May, the Executive Authority of the State Government of Rogun City, in cooperation with the city's youth and sports authorities, organizes and holds various high-level sporting events for young people and local residents.
