On January 29, 2025, an interdepartmental meeting of representatives from Tajikistan and Russia on migration issues was held in Moscow.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Major General of Militia Nasimzoda Akbar Ghiyas, as well as representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on migration issues, the procedure for the organized recruitment of labor migrants, awareness-raising and informational work, compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, documentation procedures, language training and pre-departure preparation of labor migrants, strengthening further cooperation, and addressing urgent issues requiring immediate resolution.
Additionally, they expressed their readiness to establish cooperation within the framework of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the organized recruitment of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan for labor activities in the territory of the Russian Federation.
