On July 28, 2026, an official ceremony marking the launch of the Apple Pay service in the Republic of Tajikistan was held at IT Park Dushanbe on the initiative of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and in cooperation with the National Bank of Tajikistan.
The event was attended by representatives of Apple Inc., government authorities, the banking sector, international payment systems, and technology companies.
During the ceremony, the first official transaction using Apple Pay in the Republic of Tajikistan was carried out. The transaction was performed by a representative of Apple Inc. responsible for government affairs and public policy in Central Asia and Armenia. The payment was made at the ЁВАР supermarket chain, which became the first retail network in the country to accept payments via Apple Pay.
At the initial stage, the service became available to customers of Alif Bank and Humo Bank. Holders of compatible bank cards can add them to Apple Wallet and make secure contactless payments using iPhone, Apple Watch, and other supported Apple devices.
The launch of Apple Pay represents an important milestone in the implementation of the country’s digitalization policy and creates favorable conditions for the development of cashless payments, digital financial services, and further integration of the Republic of Tajikistan into the global digital technology ecosystem.
