On October 13, 2024, the head of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Karimzoda Khurshed Abdurahmon received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Mr. Ji Shumin.
During the meeting, the Head of the Customs Service delivered an opening speech, greeted the guests and expressed gratitude for the mutually beneficial cooperation between the states in the field of customs activities.
The Ambassador also appreciated the importance of this meeting, pointing out the priority areas of customs affairs.
At the same time, the parties discussed the issues of strengthening cooperation in the field of customs statistics, as well as eliminating discrepancies in the customs statistics of the countries, improving the process of export and import of goods between the countries to a higher level.
Taking into account the above and the agricultural capabilities of Tajikistan, the issue of exporting fresh fruits and dried fruits from the Republic of Tajikistan to the People's Republic of China and developing tourism infrastructure between the countries was discussed.
The issue of strengthening cooperation in the field of customs activities within the framework of the countries of Central Asia and China was also discussed. Following the meeting, the parties came to the conclusion about the importance of solving the above-mentioned issues, expressing full confidence and readiness to implement them, that this meeting will undoubtedly give a powerful impetus to the rapid development of bilateral cooperation, as well as serve to strengthen and expand cooperation in new areas of customs activities.
