It was emphasized that, based on the national communications policy, one of the main tasks is to improve the speed and quality of communication in the country, ensure proper radio coverage throughout the state, align the communications sector with international standards and the demands of society, and transform Tajikistan into a transit country in the telecommunications market.
Information on the status of the communications sector and the country’s transit capabilities was also presented. It was noted that the private sector plays a key role in the telecommunications market of the Republic of Tajikistan. Of the 30 operating companies and providers, 29 are owned by the private sector. The main goal of active state support for the private sector is to create favorable conditions and healthy competition in the telecommunications market. Creating a suitable foundation for the development and modernization of mobile companies and fixed-line service providers is one of the most important factors in improving the quality of telecommunications services.
